What is GAINA?
GAINA uses advanced ceramic microsphere technology to reflect and dissipate thermal energy, helping interiors stay cooler in summer and warmer in winter. It also reduces surface condensation and provides a smooth, low-sheen finish.
How to Apply
- Conditions: 10–35 °C; RH < 85%; substrate < 40 °C; no rain/dew for 6 h.
- Prep: Clean thoroughly; remove loose coatings; treat mould; prime bare/galvanised metals and porous masonry with appropriate primers.
- Mix: Stir gently but thoroughly; avoid whip/air entrapment.
- Apply: Roller/brush/airless. Build film with two uniform coats; cross-directional second coat. For crack-bridging or high-moisture joints, embed reinforcing membrane where specified.
- Coverage: ~4–6 m²/L/coat (to achieve target DFT for thermal performance) [confirm DFT μm]
- Dry/Recoat: Touch-dry 45–90 min; recoat 3–6 h @ 23 °C (conditions dependent).
- Full cure: 7–10 days [confirm].
- Clean-up: Water.
- Thermal comfort: Reduces heat transfer for more stable indoor temperatures.
- Condensation control: Warmer surface temperature helps limit moisture and mould formation.
- Acoustic damping: Ceramic matrix offers light sound-dampening benefit.
- UV & weather resistance: Durable exterior/interior film.
- Low odour / low VOC: Water-based, occupant-friendly.
- Roofs & façades: Metal, tile, fibre-cement.
- Interior: Ceilings/walls in high-heat or humidity zones (kitchens, top floors).
- Industrial: Warehouses, cold-chain adjacencies (non-immersion), containerised spaces.
