What is GAINA?

GAINA is a residential ceramic thermal barrier coating engineered to improve in-home comfort. By reflecting and dissipating radiant heat, it helps keep interiors cooler in summer and warmer in winter while resisting condensation and everyday weathering.

How to apply

  1. Check conditions: Apply at 10–35 °C; RH < 85%; substrate < 40 °C; ensure 6 h dry weather after application.
  2. Surface prep: Wash thoroughly; remove dust/chalk/lichen; treat algae/mould; dry. Spot-prime bare metal with anti-corrosive primer; prime galvanised aluminium as specified; use masonry/bonding primer on porous or friable plaster.
  3. Mix: Stir gently but thoroughly (avoid entraining air). Box multiple tins for uniform colour.
  4. Apply: Roller/brush/airless. Lay down two uniform coats; apply the second cross-directionally after recoat time. For cracks/joints, embed reinforcing membrane where specified.
  5. Coverage (guide): ~4–6 m²/L/coat to achieve performance build. Two coats typical (three for enhanced thermal build).
  6. Dry & recoat: Touch-dry 45–90 min @ 23 °C; recoat 3–6 h; full cure 7–10 days.
  7. Clean-up: Water; dispose responsibly.
